The Apple Store iPhone 5 unlocked model price in the US and Canada have been confirmed. The unlocked version of the smartphone is not going to be available until another few weeks, an Apple Store representative told The Verge. No official announcement has been made about a potential date yet, so there is a chance it can be made available earlier than expected.The locked version pre orders began Friday, September 14, 2012 midnight and the initial stock reportedly sold out within one hour. For those who purchased the phone after 1:00 a.m. PST or 4:00 a.m. EST had the earliest shipping option at 2 weeks instead of 1 week.
Even though some say that the new features and specs for the iPhone 5 are "underwhelming" but the Apple brand has its loyal users. The demand was so high, the iPhone 5 apparently sold 20 times faster than its predecessor.
The iPhone 5 unlocked version will start at $649 for the 16GB model, $749 for the 32GB and $849 for the 64GB. Canadians will be able to get their hands on the 16GB model at $699 CAD, 34GB at $799 CAD, and $899 CAD for the 64GB.
Last year, the unlocked version did not go on sale until nearly one month after the carrier-contracted smartphones came out. Stay tuned for more updates!
