LG Optimus 2X : First Dual-core Tegra 2 Smartphone launches

The LG Optimus 2X (Also known as LG P990 Star) is the world’s first Tegra-2 phone which is a dual-core processorOptimus 2X features a 4-inch 800×480 pixel screen. This smartphone’s processor makes use of a 1Ghz Dual-core Processor, the NVIDIA Tegra 2. When it comes to , this smartphone has 1080p HD video playback with HDMI capabilities that result in HD quality video on the screen.
The LG Optimus 2X is running android 2.2with an upgrade to android 2.3. Its initial cost is not yet decided. The Optimus 2X has both a front camera at a staggering 8 MP and a rear camera as well as the usual microSD card slots and a Micro-USB port. The Optimus 2X’s camera has autofocus as well as an LED flash. Taking a couple of shots with it, it seemed perfectly adequate though definitely not as good as the Sony Ericsson Experia Arc.

At the top of the phone, you will find the Power button, which is a little bit recessed, but fortunately it works well enough. There’s a standard 3.5mm audio jack too.
It’s not the slimmest phone on the market at 10.9mm but is still plenty sleek enough while dimensions of 123.9 x 63.2mm make it a large but again perfectly manageable device. The LG Optimus 2X is basically a big slab, but the curved battery cover edges, and the soft touch plastic on the back make it comfortable to hold.
LG Optimus 2X has been officially announced by the Korean giant during the 2011 edition of(CES) in Las Vegas. A few days ago, another UK retailer Play.com lists the LG Optimus 2X pre-order price tag, £459.99 (approximately $735) with a more specific, March 22nd.
